You’ll find many points of interest all within walking distance of the Hammock. Any historian will enjoy our local museums, monuments and other well-noted landmarks. The Colleton County Courthouse can be seen from our front porch. Built in 1820, it is listed in the National Register of Historic places. There is a wonderful library, and nearby playgrounds.
If you have a gourmet palate, there are a wide variety of nearby restaurants catering American or other Ethnic Cuisines. We also have many different denominational churches in the area to choose from, who gladly welcome all. If antiquing is your forte, you will be awed by our 12 + Antique Shops, or shop the gift and christmas shop. For the art lover, you can’t miss the South Carolina Artisan Center, which showcases the work of state artists and artisans. We also have selective original art work created by local artists displayed at the Hammock.
